Clearly, as Obama sprints to the right while massaging AIPAC, peeps like me are going to hop off the bus. Yet, I hear people telling me that Barack Obama is far closer to my own ideology than is the utterly absurd candidacy of John McCain. The truth is, they are right. Fuck John McCain.

Oops, did I say that? Yeah, I did, and I mean it, too. Fuck McCain, there, I said it again.

I hate the lesser of two evils argument though, because I am an idealist, and I believe that anything is possible. Anarchists say that it is best to support the most absurd candidates, like Bush and McCain, because once they are elected, everyone will see how antithetical to peace and democratic ideals their agendas really are, and that realization will lead to true change. They argue that supporting a Dem that that is jettisoning anti-war principles left and right will only ensure four and maybe eight more years of the same international elite clandestinely calling the shots, and more of the same will ensue, only with a softer veneer.

Hey, I am an “in the moment” cat, and I have supported Obama, called him to task, publicly withdrawn my support, and now, I am sitting here scratching my head, listening to a truly ill jazz piano solo, and being kicked in my ass by some unknown force to tell you to vote for Barack Obama.

There, I said it. But if some zealot approached me and stepped out of their own need for food and shelter and such, eschewing their own creativity, to tell me in a doe-eyed manner that Barrack Obama was the panacea to the ills of several millenia, I wouldn’t agree.

But in the end, it’s August, the election is in November, and I’m finally convinced. I am deferring a leadership role in my decision, and I want to say that here and now. But because most people that would ever care about anything that I write or think want me to vote for Obama, hell, I’m down.

Fuck John McCain.
