This is a funny story that merged U.S. politics and pop-cultures together It all began when the presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain aired a TV campaign ad comparing his opponent, the presumptive Democrat presidential candidate Barak Obama, as a celebrity like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. It was an attempt to devalue Obama’s status. However, the ad seems to backfire as Paris Hilton responded to the ad with her “hot” policy. CNN and BBC repeatedly played with the story. Well, at least, it is enjoyable to see the light side of this presidential campaign. Who knows? Paris Hilton and Rihanna (???) her running-mate for Vice-president might get the post at the White house (even in the next Hollywood spoof films). With McLaren writing a book called “Everything Must Change” it is only fitting he endorses the candidate whose focus has been change, change, and more change. Unfortunately I am afraid Obama is more about changing what he needs to in order to get money for his campaign and to get elected and not real change in Washington. He changed on campaign finance and is now changing on drilling. Initially he said we should all get tune ups. I guess he is out of touch with real Americans enough that he doesn’t even know that today’s cars don’t require tune ups. This is also the guy who said if his daughter got pregnant he wouldn’t want her to have to suffer for that “mistake” and would support her right to get an abortion. Sadly enough I cannot say McCain is really a whole lot better.

A recent article in USA Today highlights Sen. Barak Obama’s stance against reparations.
Although I was a little upset that the Federal Government was able to provide tax rebates to all taxpayers while the reparations issue still went unaddressed, I have to somewhat side with Barak Obama. Reparations are not the answer. We differ however, in the aspect of instead improving schools, health care, and the economy for all. That money is best spent in the areas that are largely populated by African Americans to ensure that we get the bulk of the money intended to level the playing field. If a check were to be distributed to all descendents of slaves for let’s say $5,000, it would help, but it would in no way compensate for the pain placed upon enslaved Africans and its residual effects on society and the African-American community specifically.

The McCain camp is a pack of elitist idiots who don’t understand macro anything. By making fun of Obama for suggesting that people properly inflate their tires, It screams that they themselves have never gotten their fingers a little oily from unscrewing their tire cap and have no concept of what a few miles per gallon could do to the overall oil demand of our country. This reminder would also help consumers stave off having to replace their tires as soon since deflated tires wear faster. Maybe the McCain camp scoffs at putting off a $500 dollar tire replacement for a few months. Personally, I care about gas prices and I care about paying for new tires.
