Just when we thought that the Paris Hilton advertisement was out of the ordinary, but now John McCain, fast becoming the “king of advertisements” has taken released an advert titled “Family,” which features the same celebrity figures of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears along with images of Obama’s speech to over 200,000 in Berlin.
Except this time the question to Obama: “Is the biggest celebrity in the world ready to help your family?
In typical fashion, the Obama campaign quickly fired back with an damning attack on McCain:
Taken from the online political blog at The Huffington Post, The Obama campaign responds:
“Is the biggest proponent of George Bush’s tired, failed policies ready to bring about change? Another day brings another dishonest attack from John McCain. While Senator McCain knows that Senator Obama has proposed cutting taxes for 95% of American families, what he’s not telling us is that he wants to give $4 [...]

Obama’s Plan for Gas Pump Ad a NO GO!
Tagged Under : barack obama, obama, obama campaign
Officials from Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign announced a new way to wage the political energy war, it would run TV advertisements on Gas Station TV, a network of televisions in gas pumps in Florida. Well they didn’t ask for permission and the oil companies refuse.
The Obama campaign claims that “Gas Station TV informed the campaign this afternoon that the company will not run ads that are damaging to oil companies.”
And now the Obama campaign is crying that the Oil Companies are backing McCain. Has Obama forgot the $900,000 that his campaign got from the oil companies? What did he expect after saying he would raise their taxes and take their profits id he was elected?
I don’t see John McCain advertisements on gas pumps, so keep on crying Obama its nothing new for you!

Obama’s Plan for Gas Pump Ad Up in Flames
Tagged Under : barack obama, obama, obama campaign
This morning, officials from Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign proudly announced its cool new way to wage the political energy war — it would run TV advertisements on the subject, starting today, on Gas Station TV, a network of televisions in gas pumps in Florida.
How cool, how cutting edge, how innovative and unique. Except for the fact that the ads never ran.
Why that happened — or didn’t happen — is a matter of dispute.
“Gas Station TV was considering running political ads and we have been approached by a few campaigns,” said David Leider, Gas Station TV’s CEO. “We have made a conscious decision not to run political ads on our network…At no time did Gas Station TV approve the campaign or receive … an “insertion order, which is required to purchase ad times.”
The Obama campaign claims that “Gas Station TV informed the campaign this afternoon (that) the company will not run [...]

Federal pot prohibition programs will end - at least if Barack Obama becomes our president. As I wrote here on February 3, 2008 - Obama Should be willing to legalize marijuana. I recently received a response from the Obama campaign that basically supports my early prediction. Start asking him questions in public. After that I present some shocking revelations about the extent to which Old McCain is beholden to the booze industry (particularly BUSH beer). Finally, is analysis of the recent House Bill that would make even recreational use no longer a crime. Stay tuned and contact congress. As I wrote on January 23, 2008 we need to pressure Nancy Pelosi. Her district (including Humbolt County) is the main source of high-end marijuana.

Obama’s Muslim Outreach Advisor resigns after wone week on the job… Why you ask… Because he has links to Extremist Iman Jamal Said with links to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood
(CNN) — After barely a week on the job, Barack Obama’s Muslim outreach adviser resigned from the campaign after an old business connection with a fundamentalist Islamic imam surfaced last week.
Mazen Asbahi, a Chicago corporate lawyer, stepped down Monday after joining the campaign on July 26 as its national coordinator for Muslim affairs. The Wall Street Journal first reported the resignation on Tuesday night.
In a letter to the campaign, Asbahi wrote, “I am stepping down from the volunteer role I recently agreed to take on with the Obama campaign as Arab American and Muslim American outreach coordinator in order to avoid distracting from Barack Obama’s message of change.”
Asbahi served on the board of the Delaware-based Allied Assets Advisors Fund for a [...]

Obama’s Populist Message
Tagged Under : obama, obama campaign
I’ve been trying to understand the purpose of McCain’s continued ad attacks around the notion of Obama’s “celebrity”. It seems to me these ads are aimed at getting the Rush Limbaugh crowd back on board the McCain campaign. Limbaugh has been trumpeting the “Barack, The Magic Negro” meme for months. Now the McCain campaign has essentially adopted this same theme of “uppity”, in a slightly more politically correct manner and Limbaugh has begun to embrace McCain after months of mocking him.
The downside for McCain is that the ads destroy his standing as a “truth-telling maverick” with the independents. Today The Obama campaign starts to reinforce that populist message in a new ad.

The McCain Energy Plan
Tagged Under : obama, obama campaign
To build on a post I wrote yesterday, but was uploaded to the blog today, Jonathan Martin at the Politico picks up on a YouTube clip the Obama campaign drudged up (video in link) featuring John McCain offering no nonsense, basic solutions for conserving energy in a time where oil prices are set to remain high. You know, absurd and out of touch ideas like turning off the lights and reducing driving. No word on whether the Obama camp will be mailing reporters light-switch covers trumpeting the McCain energy plan. Anyway, Jonathan Martin takes the opportunity to make a glib and shallow observation.
McCain has given so many interviews over the years, in print and on TV, that the opportunities to find him in a contradiction or at least semi-contradiction are limitless. The oppo cup runneth over. Such is the downside of being the more experienced and accessible candidate.
The speech referenced took place [...]
