WHAT’S UP WID DIS? NEO-CON RUPIE SUPPORTS WHO???

Tagged Under : ,

I have been spending a great deal of time taking a look at the candidates for President and was leaning toward Obama … HOWEVER.. I REFUSE TO VOTE FOR WHOEVER RUPERT MURDOCH SUPPORTS so now I am confused exactly what to do… See, based on my spiritual beliefs whoever this guy supports is likely to be “The Anti-Christ” and Obama “APPEARS TO BE” too nice a guy to hang that shingle on him.
I simply cannot vote for McCain because he is aligned with the NEO-CON agenda and though refusing it was endorsed by the vile and repulsive JOHN HAGEE who is openly a Dispensational CHRISTIAN ZIONIST.

What’s Wrong With Personal Responsibility

Tagged Under :

As an independent, I always thought of the democrats as trying to have government fix everything that’s wrong with America.  I always looked at the republicans as advocates for personal responsibility and I liked that.  I see Obama as being as advocate of personal responsibility.  Whether hes encouraging parents to turn off the TV and get engaged with their children, telling African American or missing fathers in general to take care of their children or, encouraging national service. Recently, saying that Americans can help reduce their gas consumption by inflating their tires.
With all this silliness over the McCain campaign making fun of Americans who take inflating tires seriously, I didn’t realize that McCain was not advocating for personal responsibility.  One of my favorite sites, Republicans For Obama, raised this issue of personal responsibility. Jmartin wrote,
How can some still try to paint Barack as an old-time liberal, when he’s the only [...]

High Voter Enthusiasm, Registration, Turnout… for Democrats

Tagged Under :

Various recent studies have noted the increases in voter registration and voter enthusiasm this year. Both the registration and polls favor Obama and the Democrats.
Democratic enthusiasm hasn’t outpaced Republican interest since 1992, the last time a Democrat was elected.
All this speaks to the Democrats changing the political landscape through the “50 State Strategy” (see here for a list of posts on this strategy).
Republicans are responding in a typical fashion: dampen down your opponent’s base of support by trying to keep key Democratic groups from voting. Every major election has Republican strategists attempting to throw blacks off the rolls, intimidate them, and spread disinformation about whether they are registered to vote or what they need to be able to vote. As just one article here points out for N. Carolina.
But that’s to be expected, given the string of bad news for Republicans on their chances this year (see articles on House, [...]

Meet Me in D.C.

I’m getting the feeling that near every twenty-something college student is becoming a political nut with this election.
The funny thing is, no one knows that the crap is going on in regards to the actual election itself.
I don’t know how many times I’ve gotten on Facebook over this summer and seen the cute little statuses of “Obama rocks!”, et cetera. What makes me smile (and frown at the same time) is that these are the same people who are complaining about the price of gas in their cars. And what does Obama want to do to solve the oil crisis in America? Push for the production of more hybrid cars.
Hybrid cars. Really? Not only would this idea be years in the making at least, but I’m unaware of too many average college students who can just trade in their hunka junk for a brand new shiny fuel efficient hybrid. I’m not saying [...]

Man held in Fla. on charge of threatening Obama

Tagged Under : ,

MIAMI (AP) — A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court Thursday on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, was arrested by the Secret Service on Saturday in Miami and was ordered held at Miami’s downtown detention center without bail Thursday by a federal magistrate.
A Secret Service affidavit charges that Geisel made the threat during a training class for bail bondsmen in Miami in late July. According to someone else in the 48-member class, Geisel allegedly referred to Obama with a racial epithet and continued, “If he gets elected, I’ll assassinate him myself.”
Obama was most recently in Florida on Aug. 1-2 but did not visit the South Florida area.
Another person in the class quoted Geisel as saying that “he hated George W. Bush and that he wanted to put a bullet [...]

Schumer: Obama “Should Answer Back Hard”

Tagged Under :

The New York Senator suggests Obama should be tougher on McCain, especially when responding to attacks.
Says the response to McCain’s “Celeb” ad should have been:

“It’s John McCain who wears $500 shoes, has six houses, and comes from one of the richest families in his state.”
Adds: “When they say, ‘He’s not one of us,’ you don’t say, ‘Here’s our plan on health care.’”
Earlier: Schumer tells the “Daily Show” that Obama is “the real deal,” and not arrogant as critics suggest.

McCain releases another “celebrity family” advertisment

Tagged Under : ,

Just when we thought that the Paris Hilton advertisement was out of the ordinary, but now John McCain, fast becoming the “king of advertisements” has taken released an advert titled “Family,” which features the same celebrity figures of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears along with images of Obama’s speech to over 200,000 in Berlin.
Except this time the question to Obama: “Is the biggest celebrity in the world ready to help your family?
In typical fashion, the Obama campaign quickly fired back with an damning attack on McCain:
Taken from the online political blog at The Huffington Post, The Obama campaign responds:
“Is the biggest proponent of George Bush’s tired, failed policies ready to bring about change? Another day brings another dishonest attack from John McCain. While Senator McCain knows that Senator Obama has proposed cutting taxes for 95% of American families, what he’s not telling us is that he wants to give $4 [...]

This just off the AP Wire:

MIAMI - A man is being held in Florida by federal authorities on charges of threatening to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Raymond Hunter Geisel was ordered held without bail Thursday at a brief court hearing.
The Secret Service says Geisel made the threat during a training class for bail bondsmen in Miami in late July.
A search of Geisel’s SUV and hotel room uncovered a loaded handgun, knives, dozens of rounds of ammunition, body armor and a machete. The SUV was wired with emergency lights.
Geisel told the Secret Service he was originally from Bangor, Maine. He contended he made no threat against either Obama or the president.

Sensational

I live in a country where news is sensation void of substance. The other day, a sensation paper (i.e. newspaper) asked the very key political question to the US election: ‘Is Obama too thin?’ and this is the key question that will determine American Foreign policy comes January 2009… towards Africa. Who allows such to pollute our sight?
What happened to critical thinking and debate? Does sensation feeds into the current discourse of youth who impose a gangster style to political debates? There is a sad tragedy which is unfolding and lessons from across the continent in post-independence Africa have failed to emerge as a warning to seasoned politicians in this beloved country. I remember the time when the wave of democracy swept the continent in the nineties and made many young failed creatures of the university turn into ‘leaders’ of student movements and giving birth to embedded intellectualism…

Adamo: Obama Is Europe’s “Vision” For America

Tagged Under : ,

By Christopher G. Adamo
Fawning over Barack Obama as they did during his recent overseas campaign swing, those cheering multitudes of Europeans said much more about themselves than they did about either Illinois Senator and Democrat presidential candidate or the best course to chart for the future of the United States. Somewhat surprisingly, and despite all of the dutiful and harmonious consensus of Obama’s lackeys in the American media, his campaign gained little credibility from the venture.
Something is amiss on the European Continent, and Americans know it. For reasons of sheer survival, most of Western Europe understood the magnitude of the Cold War and the necessity of remaining solidly aligned with the United States throughout the latter half of the Twentieth Century. Even as the continent was resurrecting itself from the devastation of World War II, the specter of likely Soviet dominion over Western Europe kept sufficient numbers of Europeans on [...]
